History
ECTA is a four-year comprehensive career technical high school and is one of four Career and Technical Academies (CTA's) within the Clark County School District. ECTA gives students the opportunity to participate in career technical training programs. The course of study consists of career technical instruction as well as academic classes that meet college and district requirements, which leads students to a carer and technical education certificate and a high school diploma.
Opened in 2007, the school offers multiple career technical programs, a variety of academic courses, and student activities that can satisfy the needs of those young persons seeking additional choices to the regular high school curriculum. Student activities can come in the form of Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO's), there organizations are linked to student technical program of choice, where they can further enhance their skills and knowledge.
ECTA was built due to the success of its sister Career and Technical Academy, Southeast Career and Technical Academy (SECTA). ECTA was in Clark County School District's plan to build four more Career and Technical Academies, upon the remaining of SECTA (formally known as Vo-Tech). ECTA helps promote a positive image about the career technical learning environment present at the school, and to become part of the five Career and Technical Academies in Las Vegas.
